Closet Makeover with Only Hangers! And a Giveaway!

I recently helped my good friend with a closet makeover.  She now loves having a pretty, organized closet to work with as well as all that prettiness to look at each morning and night.  :)

She started with this.  It was ok.  It's a little closet and there are a lot of clothes and shoes that need to fit in it.

We started by emptying all of the hanging clothes.  After this picture was taken, we added a center bracket as the pole was drooping after many years of clothes hanging on it without a middle support.  Now we know it's secure.
The only change is that we got rid of some purses that were on the top shelf and changed out her modge podge of wire, plastic and yarn wrapped hangers to these new beauties from Only Hangers!  Oh my gosh they are well made!  They have smooth wood, are not too heavy, yet are extremely sturdy.  They have notches for hanging straps and a non-slip sleeve of vinyl over the bar for slacks.  So many great details in a hanger!

Simple Closet Organization and a Winner of the Ramsign Giveaway

I used to have my purses stuck up on a shelf in my closet.  Each time I went in there, that shelf just looked messy!

So this is what it looked like before...

And now this is what it looks like.

I had my husband add this dowel and now the purses hang nicely.  The straps are a little long on these, so I had to  wrap them around the hangers, but what a nice difference.
I think I'm going to try hanging my boots from hangers on this rod too...

Thank you to all of those who entered my Ramsign giveaway.  Using Random Number Generator, it chose #4.  HeatherF1 is the lucky winner!  Congratulations Heather!

Thanks so much for your visit.

Another Closet is Always a Welcome Addition

My husband wanted to add a closet to the 'man cave'.  I was all for it!  I love to have things organized and was thrilled when he said I could put whatever I wanted to put in there.  :)

Here is the 'before'.  We added that flooring when we first moved in and stored our bikes right there.  There had to be a better use for that space!

 The view from downstairs.

The mess from sanding drywall... This was after cleaning for quite awhile!  That drywall dust gets EVERYWHERE!

Prior to adding shelves.

Nice deep shelves to hold everything.

I am so happy to have a place to hang my vacuum hose. It's big and bulky and fits perfectly in here!

Here's a view of the room while standing at the new closet.

He had to make special concessions on the size and the way the door fit in due to the slope of the ceiling.  He really maximized the space.  I think it looks great!

Thanks for your visit!

Organizing the Other Side of the Closet

My husband is very good about putting his clothes back in the closet, but his side always looked messy!  We even put a coat rack in the corner so he could hang his sweatshirts from it.  Truthfully, it always looked terrible!

So, being the one who is overly anal about loves organization, I convinced him that we should add some shelves.
Since all of the other shelves are painted in here, I got to painting....

Here is the new and improved, clean, organized closet!

Yes, I am the one who color coordinates all of his shirts.  He used to complain that he didn't have this color shirt or that color shirt.  Now as soon as I get them home from the cleaners (or in the case of the polos, as soon as I've ironed them), I put them away by color.  This has completely eliminated his complaints about his shirt selection.  :)

The whole project cost only $26.

Since I try to finish my posts by giving full disclosure--here it is.  My husband couldn't care less about whether he has a bar, coat rack or shelves.  He puts his stuff wherever there is an open spot.  :)  But, I am in the closet several times a day and am a bit of a neat freak. I love that it is now neat and organized.  And we did save the rod so if we ever want to rehang it, we can.

Thanks for coming by.  I appreciate your visits and comments!
